Recently, Endeca commissioned Forrester Consulting to research how users are interacting with their BI systems, and if they are able to get the information necessary to make informed daily decisions. We also probed into how extensive the backlog of BI requests is, and why.
In the survey of 226 business and IT professionals, Forrester found that a significant number of these knowledge workers experience BI decision-making shortfalls. In fact, Forrester found that only 23% of new BI requests are fulfilled within hours, with the remaining 77% of requests adding to the backlog, getting filled within days, weeks, or months.
