CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - February 23, 2010 - Endeca Technologies, Inc., a search applications company, today announced that KMWorld Magazine has named Endeca to the publication' "100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management" list for the ninth consecutive year. Compiled by a group of KM practitioners, theorists, analysts, vendors, as well as customers and colleagues, the list will be posted to www.kmworld.com on March 1.
"The dynamics of today's knowledge economy are complex, with data scattered throughout any number of systems in varying stages of maturity, but Endeca does a good job at cutting through it," said Hugh McKellar, KMWorld editor in chief. "Endeca does more than throw sophisticated technology at its customers; it provides real solutions through inspired planning, which has earned it a strong reputation for innovation across the constituency chain."
This most recent recognition from KMWorld caps a productive 2009 for Endeca in the enterprise search market, underscored by the March launch of the McKinley release of the Endeca Information Access Platform. McKinley features a redesigned engine architecture that capitalizes on multi-core processors from chipmakers such as Intel, giving users a faster ability to search, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of diverse and changing data from across the enterprise. Endeca also established key partnerships with SAP, Informatica, and Open Text in the past year. These partnerships further extend McKinley's ability to draw on structured and unstructured data throughout the enterprise, from e-mails and blogs to ERP systems, databases and other traditional enterprise applications.
"In the past year, we made our platform faster and extended its ability to search different sources of data, especially enterprise systems more traditionally accessed by business intelligence applications," said Steve Papa, CEO of Endeca. "We have also been very successful in the eCommerce space, developing faceted search and navigation for leading online retailers. Our experience there - making discovery easy and understandable for consumers - provides key insights we apply to our enterprise business. We're honored to be recognized for our commitment to developing innovative software that' making data available to more users across the enterprise."
This recognition adds to Endeca's growing list of achievements throughout the past year, including being chosen by AlwaysOn as an "East 100 Top Private Company," by EContent Magazine as a "Top 100 Digital Content Company" and by CIO Magazine as a one of the "Twenty Companies to Watch in 2010." In addition, the Endeca Information Access Platform was named by KMWorld Magazine as a "Trend-Setting Product of the Year for 2009."
